Ulu Watu & South Coast Guide

Around 1hr 15mins from the airport and Kuta is Ulu Watu. The Ulu Watu area is Bali’s surfing mecca.
Cliff paths and strong surf can make this a nightmare with little ones. That said, if you want to make the trek, there are cafés on the beaches to sit and watch the surfers. If you have older kids wanting to catch a wave or two then this is the place, very cool.
The Bukit Peninsula...
Famed for its rock star pads, uber chic family villa's, glam hotels and epic surf at nearby Padang-Padang, Dreamland or Uluwatu beach.
If you are headed down to Echo Beach to catch the surf: then we recommend the Betel Nut Café (Jalan Batubolong No. 60, Canggu), a funky place with great healthy food for kids. It also has fantastic views of the surrounding paddy fields.
Which Family Pod? Toddling around ; Energetic explorer
Tiny Tip:Magic Seaweed can provide surf reports

Pura Luhur Uluwatu temple...
'Ulu' meaning 'Lands End' and 'Watu' meaning 'rock', this temple is perched majestically on a steep cliff overlooking the legendary surf breaks of South Bali. The inner sanctum offers a large area for the littlies to run around whilst you enjoy the beauty of the temple. This is a lovely hassle-free experience. You can watch the monkeys, they should be fine provided you take your sunglasses off your head, and you keep food or cameras hidden (those with toddlers will be familiar with these rules already).Kecak fire dancing is a nightly performance, the views at sunset make this a must-do.
