Jimbaran Guide

Just beyond the airport, south of Kuta, Jimbaran Bay is home to the most stunning 5-Star resorts in Bali.

That aside, the beach itself is part of the busy fishing village with its local fish market. If it's not too much of a trek, the beach is a wonderful place to eat fresh fish with your feet in the sand. Be warned though, the traffic can get busy during rush hour.

Jimbaran Bay, the upmarket fishing village...

The bay itself a white sand crescent is home to many beach-side fish restaurants & 5-stars. Jimbaran bay was the home of a relatively busy fishing village, Kedonganan which still exists today – Kedonganan market is already bustling by 5am. The bay is also famous for some of the most majestic sunsets in the world. The perfect place to sit with your feet in the sand, enjoy the fresh fish on offer day or night and watch your kiddies play. A perfect spot to enjoy and an early tea, en-famille.

Get some Karma...

Fancy a bit of glam with the kiddies, the 5-stars are here: Karma Jimbaran backs on to the beach. Pop through the mossy beach gate and discover a place that really welcomes kids, Karma Lounge beside the pool is a lovely place to spend the afternoon, they will be more than happy to let your kids enjoy the water. The Four Seasons has a lovely all-day dining option at Jimbaran beach-front restaurant Sundara (with fab kids menu to boot) also a treat for family sundowners. Watch the sunset over the bay in five star splendour.

Tiny Tip: If you have a littlie in tow who is keen to toddle off and throw themselves into a pool, then Karma is not the most relaxing place for lunch. Probably best to stick to the baby friendly bay.

Babes in the Bukit...

Goes down a bomb with the littlies... The Bukit Peninsula, full of rock-star pads, uber-cool accom and the hallowed surf. Check out Daddy's Sunday Brunch at Deus - apres-surf at nearby Echo or Tugu Beaches. In need of wee ones surf instruction? Then head for Rapture Camps, Pecatu (for older kids in the family, min age 10)If you want to get them up on their feet from a younger age then Marcy's Surf Coaching in Kuta offers one-on-one from age 3!
