Sanur Guide

This is a lovely 3km cove with beautiful white sand. It's also sheltered by a reef, perfect for dipping those little toes. Inexpensive (but good!) shady beachfront eateries run the length of the beach.

A local band sometimes play lively songs in the afternoon - great fun to watch! You can enjoy lunch on the beach whilst watching your little ones play. There are high chairs in the sand and great kids food available (think yummy noodles). The road behind the beach is peaceful with a lovely little market where the sellers will encourage you to buy (don't worry, they're not too persistent). Sanur is home to a good mix of places to stay. The Bali Hyatt, with its beautiful architecture, prime waterfront position and fantastic family pools is a good place to spend an alternative day out away from the beach.

Sanur, lil' family friendly cove...

It's no fluke that many of the long-time residents of Bali have chosen this lovely area east of Denpasar to reside: it's close enough to the capital, whilst being a world away from the noise, confusion and heavy traffic of the Kuta region. The kind of place where hip travellers tired of the party scene come to recharge. Known for its welcoming feel, this is the perfect alternative to the 5-Star gloss of Seminyak, The Bukit, Nusa Dua or Jimbaran.

Tiny Tip: At low-tide the water is shallow and you need to pick your way out over rocks and coral. No good for tiny toes. At high-tide though swimming is fine and there is a classic, if not fickle, surf break.
