Tamarind Village

Located in the beautiful ancient city of Chiang Mai, this beautiful small, Thai Hotel will surround you with its charm  ...

This Hotel is situated in the Centre of the city surrounded by Thai Temples and the quaint shopping streets full of quirky cafes and artisan shops.  The children will be entertained by the Lanna Kids Club which gives them a real insight into real Thai culture....

Why we love....

Rustic Boutique Chic hotel, with traditional daily activities for the children to do and a fantastic location in the Old city of Chiang Mai.

Set around a courtyard overlooking a Tamaringd tree. A Lanna style Boutique Hotel with 42 rooms and 3 suites. The Hotel building is based upon traditional northern Thailand architecturewith a simple modern twist. This gives the Hotel a lovely balance between past and present.

Situated in the heart of Chiang Mai’s historic old town, it has Temples, cafes and shops all within walking distance. The famous walking street market (which takes place on a Sunday) takes place literally outside the front gate!!

The Children will love....

The traditional Thai crafts on offer in the Lanna Kids club, umbrella painting, weaving and lotus flower folding... and for the more adventurous a walking tour of the local viallge and Temples.

The Hotel has a small pool (just enough to cool off after a days sightseeing!). The Hotel offers complimentary daily activities for the children (Lanna Kids) ranging from weaving to umbrella painting and & the art of folding lotus flowers. All Tamarind Village activities are offered on a complimentary basis and are open to children ages 4 and up. Younger children are welcome when accompanied by an adult. There is also a complimentary daily walking tour of the local village and Temples. And if it all gets a bit too stressful then the onsite Spa is there for a pamper session, including a childs massage (age 5+). There is no reason the whole family can’t relax! And with a restaurant and an onsite boutique to buy all your Thai artisan gifts, you may not want to leave the hotel grounds at all!!

Little Niggles....

The rooms can be a bit dark and on the petite size, but this is also the charm of the Lanna architecture. Balcony rooms are also not safe for the tiny ones as they are not completely enclosed. Mozzies can be a nusance, this is due to being in the tropics! Cover up during dawn and dusk and use repellant.
