Vientiane with its French colonial buildings and bougainvillaea lined streets is a joy to behold. This friendly city houses lovely crumbling French mansions and colourful steamy noodle stalls.

A Playground at Mekong Riverfront:....
On Fa Ngum Road (near the Chinese Temple) there’s an open area with children’s playground, this is also where the night market sets up so great early evening. Hours of Operation: Open all the time but best early or just before dusk.The River is a lovely way to spend a morning. There are several boats that can take you on your merry way. After your boat trip You could go and treat yourself to a lovely lunch overlooking the river at one of the Hotels along the riverside.

NongChan Waterpark
On Khouvieng Road – Water slides, Cafe, fun in and out of the sun. In front of the French Embassy Medical Center, about a twenty minute walk from the city center.Admission Fee: 10,000 kip ($1.20) Slides: 40,000 kip ($5) Lockers: 10,000 kip ($1.20)Hours of Operation: Open Daily from 10 am to 6:30 pm

On Chao Anou Road – with beautiful undercover playground, perfect for a bit of mummy and lil' me time.
Admission Fee: Free, but buy a cup of coffee or meal (please).
Hours of Operation: Monday – Tuesday 7 am to 5 pm, Wednesday – Friday 11 am to 4 pm, Saturday 8 am to 6 pm
